Fosicard Indications
Hypertension, chronic heart failure.
Dosage & Administration
Arterial hypertemsion. Initial dose of 10 mg / day. Usual maintenance dose - 20 mg / day. The usual dose range is 10-40 mg / day. A correction dose after 4 weeks depending on the effect. Doses greater than 40 mg / day did not result in further reduction of blood pressure. If monotherapy does not provide a satisfactory effect can add a thiazide diuretic.
Symptomatic chronic heart failure. Fosinopril should be used as adjunctive therapy to diuretics treatment. The initial dose is 5-10 mg / day. Treatment can be started on an outpatient basis. The appearance of transient hypotension after administration of the 1st dose does not preclude careful dose escalation after the elimination of hypotension. However, patients with severe heart failure, impaired renal function and a tendency to electrolyte imbalance should be under medical supervision in a hospital during the initial phase of treatment. This also applies to patients who take further vasodilators. If the initial dose is well transferred, it can be increased at weekly intervals up to 40 mg / day.
Impaired renal function. With careful treatment is recommended to start with the 10 mg dose, especially if the glomerular filtration rate <10 ml / min. Depending on the effect of the treatment dose should be adjusted to achieve the desired therapeutic effect.
