Fluconazol Indications

The treatment of such diseases in adults such as:

- Cryptococcal meningitis;

- Сoccidioidomycosis;

- Invasive candidiasis;

- Mucosal candidiasis including oropharyngeal candidiasis, oesophageal candidiasis and, kandyduriya, chronic candidiasis of the skin and mucous membranes;

- Chronic atrophic candidiasis (candidiasis caused by dentures) after failure of local therapy.

Prevention of diseases in adults such as:

- Relapse of cryptococcal meningitis in patients with high risk of development;

- Oropharyngeal candidiasis relapse or esophagus in patients with HIV with a high risk of development;

- Prevention of Candida infections in patients with prolonged neutropenia (such as patients with malignant blood diseases that patients receive chemotherapy or transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to fluconazole, other azole compounds or to any of the excipients of the drug.

Concomitant use of fluconazole and terfenadine patients who use multiple fluconazole doses of 400 mg / day and above.

Concomitant use of fluconazole and other drugs that prolong QT interval and are metabolized by the enzyme CYP3A4 (eg cisapride, astemizole, pimozide, quinidine and erythromycin).

Dosage & Administration

The dose of fluconazole depends on the type and severity of the fungal infection.

If necessary, the repeated use of the drug should continue to treat infections in the disappearance of clinical and laboratory manifestations of the activity of fungal infection. Insufficient duration of treatment can lead to recovery of active infection.

Intravenous drug use by infusion.
