Pronoran Indications
- Treatment of Parkinson's disease as monotherapy (treatment with dominant forms of tremor symptom) or in combination with levodopa starting treatment or as adjuvant therapy (especially shapes with tremor symptom).
- Auxiliary symptomatic treatment of chronic cognitive and neurosensory deficit in the elderly (with the exception of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias).
- Adjuvant therapy for claudication caused by chronic stage II of the lower limbs obliterating diseases (this indication is based on data from studies that showed an increase in the distance that patients can go walking).
- The symptoms of ischemia in ophthalmic diseases.
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to piribedilu or any other excipients of the drug, cardiovascular shock, acute phase of myocardial infarction; concurrent use with neuroleptics (except clozapine).
Dosage & Administration
Oral adminstration. Tablets are taken after a meal, swallowed without chewing, with ½ cup water. Tablets should not crush.
Parkinson disease
The recommended dose for monotherapy: 150-250 mg (3-5 tablets per day), distributed into 3 doses.
In combination with L-dopa 150 mg (3 tablets per day), divided into 3 doses. Treatment started 1 tablet (50 mg). The dose is increased gradually to 1 tablet (50 mg) every 2 weeks.
Other indications
At a dose of 50 mg / day (one tablet), after the main meals. If necessary, the dose may be increased to 100 mg / day (2 tablets), distributed into 2 doses, after the main meals.
