Prodep Indications

Major depressive episodes / disorder.
Manic-obsessive disorder.
Bulimia Nervosa: in the complex therapy to reduce the uncontrolled consumption of food and to clean the intestines.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to fluoxetine or to any of the other ingredients. Concomitant use with MAO inhibitors (selective, nonselective), including linezolid.

Severe hepatic and renal failure, epilepsy, convulsive states a history of suicidal thoughts, glaucoma, atony bladder, benign prostatic hyperplasia.

The gap between the end of MAO inhibitor therapy and initiation of treatment with fluoxetine should be at least 14 days. The gap between the end of treatment with fluoxetine and initiation of treatment MAO inhibitors should be at least 5 weeks.

Dosage & Administration

Major depressive episodes / disorder.

The patient should begin therapy with 20 mg in one morning reception, this dose is sufficient to achieve the antidepressant effect. If clinical need 3-4 weeks of therapy the dose may be increased to 20 mg twice a day; while increasing the dose leads to a potential increase in side effects, some patients with insufficient response to treatment dose of 20 mg, the dose can be gradually increased to 60 mg per day. Increase the dose individually and with care, therapy should be started with the lowest effective dose.

Patients with depressive disorders should be treated for a sufficient time, for at least 6 months to peresvidchennya in the absence of symptoms.

Manic-obsessive disorder.
The usual recommended dose is 20 mg per day. While increasing the dose leads to a potential increase in side effects, some patients with insufficient response to treatment within 2 weeks dose of 20 mg, the dose can be gradually increased to 60 mg per day.
