Torasemid Sandoz Indications
Tablets of 10 mg - swelling in heart failure patients.
Tablets of 100 mg - swelling, high blood pressure with severe renal failure (creatinine clearance <20 mL / min) in the presence of at least some of any residual diuresis (> 200 ml for 24 h), including hemodialysis.
Dosage & Adminsitration
Essential hypertension. The recommended dose for adults is 2.5 mg / day. If, after two-month treatment with torasemide in a dose of 2.5 mg / day, normalization of blood pressure is not achieved, the dose can be increased up to 5 mg (taken as a single dose). The maximum effect is usually noted within 3 months of starting treatment. Application doses> 5 mg did not lead to increased antihypertensive effect.
Edema. Therapy begins with 1 tablet (5 mg) per day. If the effect is insufficient, the dose can be gradually increased up to 20 mg of torasemide (taken as a single dose).
CRF dose depends on the degree of renal dysfunction. If the dose is 20 mg / day is insufficient, it can be increased to 50 mg torasemide 1 times a day if necessary and gradually increase to a maximum dose - 200 mg 1 time per day. The maximum daily dose of 200 mg is prescribed only to patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <20 ml / min) (including during hemodialysis) if there is no urine output of less than 200 ml for 24 hours.
Tablets should be taken in the morning, preferably during meals, not liquid, squeezed small amounts of liquid.
Drug therapy is usually long; in the case of heart failure is performed until disappearance of edema.
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to torasemide, sulfonylureas, or to any component of the drug. Renal failure, accompanied by anuria, hepatic coma or precoma, hypotension.
