Agapurin Retard Indications
- Chronic peripheral arterial and arteriovenous circulatory disorders due to atherosclerosis (atherosclerosis with intermittent claudication), diabetes (diabetic angiopathy), inflammation (obliterating endarteritis), degenerative disorders (posttrombotychnyy syndrome, trophic ulcers, gangrene, frostbite) and anhioneyropatiyi (paresthesia, acrocyanosis, Raynaud's disease);
- Cerebrovascular circulation disorders (a condition called atherosclerosis, such as reduced ability to concentrate, dizziness, memory loss, and the state after stroke with persistent symptoms of cerebrovascular ischemia);
- Acute and chronic retinal vascular insufficiency and horioyidalna;
- Acute functional disorders of the vestibular apparatus.
Dosage & Administration
Used internally. The usual dose is 1 tablet (600 mg) twice a day.
For those with renal dysfunction (creatinine clearance <30 mL / min) should be used in reduced dose (1 tablet per day).
For patients with severe hepatic dysfunction is also necessary to reduce the dosage (1 tablet per day).
In patients with hypotension, unstable circulation and in those with risk of hypotension (eg, in patients with coronary artery disease or severe stenosis of cerebral arteries) therapy should begin with low doses, which only gradually can be increased.
The tablet should be taken whole, with the appropriate amount of liquid (half a cup) during or immediately after a meal.
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to pentoxifylline, other methylxanthines or to any component of the drug;
- Bleeding;
- Retinal bleeding;
- Bleeding in the retina;
- Acute myocardial infarction;
- During pregnancy and lactation;
- There is little experience in treating children and adolescents under 18 years because they prescribe pentoxifylline is not recommended.
