Teventen Indications
Essential hypertension.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the inactive ingredients.
Vahitnict or planning pregnancy.
Bilateral renovascular disease with significant hemodynamic disturbances or severe renal artery stenosis single functioning kidney.
Concomitant use of medicinal products Teveten® with drugs containing aliskiren, patients with diabetes or renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate <60 mL / min / 1.73 m2)
Dosage & Administration
The recommended dose for adults is 600 mg eprosartan 1 per day (in the morning).
In most patients, the maximum reduction in blood pressure is achieved within 2-3 weeks of treatment.
Teveten can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive agents. In particular, the addition of thiazide diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide or calcium channel blockers such as nifedipine prolonged action, demonstrated an additive effect when administered with eprosartan.
The drug can be taken regardless of meals.
Elderly patients
Special dose selection for elderly patients is required.
Patients with hepatic impairment
Experience with patients with hepatic impairment is limited .
Patients with impaired renal function
For patients with moderate or severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <60 ml / min) daily dose should not exceed 600 mg.
Children
Since the safety and efficacy of the medicinal product Teveten for children has not been established, the purpose of the drug to patients of this category is not recommended.
