Furamag INDICATIONS
- infections caused by susceptible microorganisms to furagin soluble: urogenital infections (acute and chronic cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis), infectious diseases of the skin and soft tissues, severe infected burns, gynecological infections
- preventive treatment of urinary tract infections
- prevention of infectious complications in urologic surgery, cystoscopy, catheterization, and others
APPLICATION
The drug is taken after meals, drinking plenty of water.
Assign 50-100 mg (2-4 capsules) three times a day.
Babies administered 25-50 mg (1-2 capsules) 3 times a day, but no more than 5 mg / kg body weight per day.
The maximum daily dose for adults is 300 mg.
The course of treatment is from 5 to 10 days. In case of need 10-15 days can be repeated (prescribed by a doctor). Babies with 30 kg body weight and more capsules administered with 50 mg three times a day.
For the purpose of preventive treatment of urinary tract infections in adults and children administered 1/3 -¼ daily dose at bedtime for 3-6 months.
To prevent infections in urologic surgery, cystoscopy, catheterization, etc. the drug is prescribed for adults - 50 mg 3 times a day for children - 25 mg 3 times a day.
In the event of missed doses the next dose should be taken as soon as you remember.
Do not take a double dose to replace the missed dose.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to furagin soluble, nitrofuran derivatives group or excipients of the drug;
severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance <30 mL / min);
severe hepatic impairment;
polyneuropathy (including diabetic);
deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (risk of hemolysis);
porphyria (disease caused by metabolic disorders of hemoglobin degradation products);
patients on hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
SIDE EFFECTS
FURAMAG has low toxicity, but, the following adverse reactions.
From the nervous system: headache, dizziness, neuritis, polyneuritis, somnolence.
On the part of the digestive tract: epigastric pain, loss of appetite, feeling of bitterness in the mouth, nausea, vomiting.
On the part of the organ of hearing: tinnitus.
Immune system: pruritus, rash, urticaria, angioedema and hypersensitivity reactions.
Liver: right upper quadrant pain, abnormal liver function.
