Enam Indications
- Treatment of hypertension.
- Treatment of clinically significant heart failure.
- Prevention clinically significant heart failure in patients with asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction (ejection fraction ≤ 35%).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to enalapril, to any excipient, or to any other ACE inhibitor.
- A history of angioedema associated with ACE inhibitors.
- Hereditary or idiopathic angioedema.
- Pregnant women or women who plan to become pregnant .
Enam Do not use with drugs containing aliskiren, patients with diabetes or renal impairment (GFR <60 ml / min / 1.73 m2).
Dosage & Administration
Food intake does not affect absorption of Enam tablets. The dosage should be chosen individually according to the situation of each patient and blood pressure response in return.
Hypertension.
Dose range from the initial 5 mg to a maximum of 20 mg depending on the degree of hypertension and the patient (see. Below). Enam take 1 per day. When hypertension mild recommended initial dose is 5.10 mg.
Patients with an activated renin-very angiotensin-aldosterone system (eg renovascular hypertension, infringement of salt and / or fluid balance, cardiac function decompensation or severe hypertension) may be excessive reduction in blood pressure after receiving the initial dose. Such patients recommended starting dose of 5 mg or lower, and the initiation of treatment should take place under medical supervision.
Heart failure / asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction.
For the treatment of clinically severe heart failure Enam used together with diuretics and, where appropriate, digitalis drugs or beta-blockers. The initial dose for patients with clinically significant heart failure or asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction is 2.5 mg, and the use of the drug must be under close medical supervision in order to establish the initial effects on blood pressure.
