Dioxydin Indications

Inflammatory processes of various localization: purulent pleurisy, empyema, lung abscess, peritonitis, cystitis, wound with deep cavities, soft tissue abscesses, cellulitis, wound postoperative urinary and biliary tract. It is also used for the prevention of infectious complications after catheterization.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug, a history of adrenal insufficiency.

Dosage and administration. Dioxydin prescribed only for adults. Before starting the course of treatment is necessary to test for tolerance of the drug, which in the purulent cavity introduce 10 ml of a 1% solution. In the absence of a period of 3-6 hours, side effects (dizziness, chills, fever) are beginning to exchange treatment.

The solution is introduced into the cavity through the drain tube, a catheter or a syringe - usually 10-50 ml of a 1% solution.

The maximum daily dose of 70 ml of a 1% solution. Applied 1 or 2 times a day (daily dose not exceeding 70 ml of 1% solution). The duration of treatment depends on the disease severity and tolerability. The course of treatment can last for 3 weeks or more. If necessary, repeat the treatment after 1-1.5 months.

Also used topically applying to the surface of the wound bandage soaked in a solution of 1%.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions, including skin rash, itching; headache, chills, flushing of the skin, indigestion, changes at the application site.
