Mirazep Indications

Deep depression.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any component of the drug.

Concomitant use of mirtazapine with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO).

Dosage & Administration

Tablets should be swallowed whole, washed down with some liquid.

This drug should be used once in the evening before bedtime. Mirazep also be taken in smaller doses, distributed evenly throughout the day (morning and evening).
Treatment should continue until complete resolution of symptoms - for at least 6 months. In the following discontinuation of the drug should be made gradually to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
Adults

The effective daily dose is usually 15 to 45 mg; initial dose - 15 or 30 mg. If the initial dose is - 15 mg daily and 15 or 45 mg tablets used appropriate dosage. Mirtazapine begins to show effect in general after 1-2 weeks of treatment. Treatment of the appropriate dose should cause a positive response within 2-4 weeks. In case of insufficient response the dose can be increased. If in the next 2-4 weeks, the effect is not observed, the drug should be discontinued.

Elderly patients

The recommended dose is the same as for adults. In order to achieve a satisfactory and safe result increasing the dose for elderly patients is carried out under strict medical supervision.
