Fenefrin Indications
- Dilated pupils
- The most rapid and marked expansion of the pupil.
- Prevention and treatment
- Prevention of uveitis or uveitis when synechiae destruction.
- Surgery
- Mydriasis before surgery.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or other components of the drug;
- Closure glaucoma, dry rhinitis, vascular aneurysm;
- Old age, severe disorders of the cardiovascular or cerebrovascular system;
- Violation of the integrity of the eyeball;
- Hyperthyroidism;
- Congenital deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.
- The application of monoamine oxidase inhibitors and within 2 weeks of discontinuation of MAO inhibitors;
- Simultaneous use with tricyclic antidepressants and antihypertensive drugs (including beta-blockers).
Dosage & Administration
The drug is prescribed for adults.
For the most rapid and pronounced mydriasis instill one drop drug 1 time in the conjunctival sac.
For the destruction of synechiae one drop of product applied to the conjunctiva of the eye or both eyes 1 per day. Treatment duration should not exceed 5 days; medical supervision is necessary during prolonged treatment.
For mydriasis before surgery drug applied 30-60 minutes before surgery.
Dosage for elderly patients.
The drug should be used with caution in elderly patients only after assessing the possibility of using a drug with a lower concentration of phenylephrine.
