Ofloxacin Indications
Infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by pathogens sensitive to ofloxacin:
- Acute and chronic bronchopulmonary infection;
- Acute and chronic infections of the upper and lower parts of the urinary tract;
- Infections of skin and soft tissues;
- Sepsis.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to ofloxacin and other components of the drug or other drugs of fluoroquinolones;
- Epilepsy;
- Central nervous system with reduced seizure threshold (after traumatic brain injury, stroke, inflammation of the brain and meninges);
- Tendonitis in history;
- Lack of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;
Ofloxacin should not be administered to patients with prolongation QT, uncompensated patients with hypokalemia, and patients receiving antiarrhythmic drugs class IA (quinidine, procainamide) or Class III (amiodarone, sotalol).
Dosage & Administration
Apply adult patients intravenously. Before the introduction should make allergic skin test.
The dose of ofloxacin set individually, depending on the sensitivity of microorganisms, the type and severity of infection.
