Neomycin INDICATIONS
- bacterial infection of the skin at a limited herpetic infections, including varicella;
- infected varicose ulcers; eczema; bacterial diaper dermatitis; prevention of umbilical infections in newborns.
After surgical procedures: how adjunct therapy in postoperative period (including treatment and perineal episiotomy, mastitis during drainage, posttraumatic infections); infections in burns.
APPLICATION
Adults and children Neomycin ointment should be used usually 2-3 times a day for 7 days.
For topical application over 7 days, the dose of neomycin should not exceed 1 g per day (equivalent to 200 g of ointment). When repeating the course, the maximum dose should be halved.
Apply a small amount of ointment to the affected area and gently rub. If necessary, after applying the drug to the affected area, you can apply a gauze bandage.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to the drug or to other aminoglycoside antibiotics.
Extensive and severe skin lesions (possible resorption of the drug with the development of ototoxic effects with hearing loss).
