Vasicare Indications
Urgent (imperative) urinary incontinence, fast and urgent urination (mandatory) the urge to urinate, typical for patients with overactive bladder syndrome.
Dosage & Adminstration
Vesicare is taken during mouth with a liquid whole pill regardless of the meal.
Adults including the elderly: the recommended dose is 5 mg 1 time per day. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 10 mg 1 time per day.
Patients with renal insufficiency: adjust dose for patients with mild to moderate renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance >30 ml/min) is not necessary. Patients with severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance ≤30 ml/min) should be used with caution to take the drug and to not more than 5 mg 1 time per day.
Patients with hepatic impairment: adjust dose for patients with moderate hepatic insufficiency is not necessary. Patients with moderate hepatic impairment (7-9 points on a scale child-Pugh) should take the drug with caution and do not exceed the dosage of 5 mg 1 time per day.
When using potent inhibitors of cytochrome P450 3A4 the maximum dose of the drug Vesicare should be limited to 5 mg when administered simultaneously with ketoconazole or therapeutic doses of other potent inhibitors of the isoforms of the cytochrome CYP 3A4, for example, ritonavir, nelfinavir, Itraconazole.
Contradictions
- hypersensitivity to solifenacin, or other components of the drug,
- urinary retention,
- severe gastrointestinal disease (including toxic megacolon),
- myasthenia gravis,
- angle-closure glaucoma,
- kidney dialysis,
- severe hepatic,
- severe renal or hepatic insufficiency of moderate severity,
- while treatment active inhibitors of cytochrome CYP 3A4 (e.g. ketoconazole).
