Urorec Indications

Symptomatic treatment of BPH (benign prostatic hypertrophy).

Dosage & Adminsitration

Adults - Administered orally. The recommended dose is 8 mg 1 time per day. The drug should be taken with food, preferably at the same time. Capsule not crush, swallow without chewing, drinking a glass of water.

Elderly patients - Silodosin administered with caution in elderly patients because of an increased risk of hypotension. No dose adjustment for elderly patients is not required.

Patients with impaired renal function - Dose adjustment for patients with minor renal dysfunction (creatinine clearance ≥50- <80 ml / min) is required. In case of violation moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance ≥30- <50 ml / min) therapy is started with a dose of 4 mg silodosin 1 once a day, after which, considering the individual response of the body, after 1 week dose can be increased to 8 mg 1 once a day. Use of the drug in the treatment of patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL / min) is contraindicated.

Patients with hepatic impairment - No dose adjustment for patients with minor or moderate hepatic impairment is not required. Since there is no clinical experience with the drug in the treatment of patients with severe hepatic impairment and prescription drug in this category is contraindicated.

Contradictions

- silodosin or hypersensitivity to any of the excipients of the formulation;
- severe renal dysfunction (creatinine clearance <30 mL / min);
- severe liver function;
- Interactions with potent CYP 3A4 inhibitors of systems (such as ketoconazole, itraconazole or ritonavir);
- one week before the surgery, cataract;
- decompensated heart failure.
