Ketotifen Indications
Prophylactic treatment of asthma, especially atopic.
Symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions including allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ketotifen or any other drug.
Avoid concurrent use of oral ketotifen and antidiabetic drugs (risk of reversible thrombocytopenia) until such time as this phenomenon is not sufficiently understood.
Dosage & Administration
During eating.
Adults: 1 tablet (1 mg) 2 times a day, morning and evening meals. Patients who are experiencing significant sedative effect, which occurs in the first days of the drug, should be Ketotifen 1 tablet a day, only at night.
If necessary, the daily dose can be increased to 4 mg, ie 2 tablets 2 times a day. When using higher doses can expect rapid onset of therapeutic effect.
Children from 3 years: 1 tablet (1 mg) 2 times a day, morning and evening meals.
