Oftan Dexamethasone Indications
Treatment of steroid-sensitive non-infectious inflammatory or allergic diseases of the conjunctiva, cornea and anterior segment of the eye, including inflammation response in the postoperative period.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.
Tuberculosis of eye herpes simplex, varicella, vaccinia vaccination disease and other viral and fungal diseases of the eye.
Bacterial infections of the mucous membranes of the eyes without concomitant antimicrobial therapy.
Perforation of the cornea.
Dosage & Administration
Shake the bottle well before use the medicament.
(To prevent contamination of the dropper tip and preparations ) Carefully, do not touch the eyelids, surrounding areas or other surfaces flakona- tip drip.
Applications for adults, including the elderly people
In severe or acute inflammation 1-2 drops should be instilled in the conjunctival sac of affected eye (eye) every 30-60 minutes as initial therapy.
In case of a positive effect of the dose should be reduced to 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac of affected eye (eyes) every 2-4 hours.
Then the dose can be reduced to 1 drop 3-4 times a day if this dose is sufficient to control inflammation.
Application for violations of liver and kidney function
The drug is not studied in patients with kidney disease or liver.
However, due to the low systemic absorption of dexamethasone after topical application of this drug in the dose adjustment is not necessary.
