Dosage form of Metressa - solution for infusion.
Active ingredient of the medicine - metronidazole - is a synthetic antibacterial agen.
Indication
Treatment and prevention of infections caused by pathogens susceptible to metronidazole (mainly anaerobic bacteria).
Treatment effective in cases of:
- Infections of the central nervous system (including brain abscess, meningitis);
- Infections of the lungs and pleura (including necrotizing pneumonia, aspiration pneumonia, lung abscess);
- Endocarditis;
- Infections of the gastrointestinal tract and abdominal cavity, including peritonitis, liver abscess, infection after surgery for colon or rectum, purulent lesions of abdominal or pelvic cavity;
- Gynecological infections (including endometritis after cesarean section or hysterectomy, childbed fever, septic abortion);
- Infections of upper respiratory tract and oral cavity (including angina Simanovskoho Plauta-Vincent);
- Infections of bones and joints (including osteomyelitis);
- Gas gangrene;
- Septicemia with thrombophlebitis.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to metronidazole nitroimidazolnyh and other derivatives. Organic central nervous system (including epilepsy); blood diseases; liver failure (when to assign high dose).
