Mercilon Indications

Oral contraception.

Contraindications

- Hypersensitivity to any active or auxiliary ingredients.

- Moderate or severe hypertension.

- Available at present or in the history of arterial thrombosis (eg myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular accident) or its precursors (such as transient ischemic attack, angina pectoris). The presence of more than one risk factor of arterial disease.

- Known propensity to venous or arterial thrombosis, with or without the inclusion of inherited disorders such as activated protein C resistance (APS), antithrombin III deficiency, deficiency of protein S, hyperhomocysteinemia, antiphospholipid antibodies.

- Availability present or a history of venous thrombosis (eg deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism).

- Migraine with focal neurological symptoms.

- Diabetes with vascular complications.

- The presence of serious or multiple risk factors for venous or arterial thrombosis (see. Section "Peculiarities of Application").

- Available pancreatitis or a history of pancreatitis, accompanied by high hypertriglyceridemia.

- The presence of systemic lupus erythematosus now or in history.

Dosage & Administration

Tablets should be taken in that order on the package every day at about the same time, the need for drinking a small amount of liquid.

During 21 days in a row take 1 tablet. Tablets with each additional package adopted after the period
7 days without pills, during which withdrawal bleeding usually occurs. It normally begins 2-3 days after applying the last tablet and may continue to use tablets beginning with the next pack.

Start of taking the drug Mercilon 

Hormonal contraceptives in the previous period (last month) were not applied.

The use of tablets start in 1 day natural cycle of women (ie 1 day of menstrual bleeding).

If menstruation has already begun (2, 3 or 4 days ago) method should begin on day 5 of the cycle. However, in this case for the first 7 days of the first cycle of pill recommended to additionally use a barrier method of contraception.

If menstruation began more than five days ago, the patient should be advised to postpone the start of the application Mercilon the next menstrual cycle.
