Mesatone Indications

- Hypotension.

- Shock (traumatic, toxic).

- Vascular insufficiency overdose vasodilators.

- As a vasoconstrictor during local anesthesia.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

All kinds of arterial hypertension, infarction,  hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, pheochromocytoma, ventricular fibrillation, occlusive vascular disease, arterial thrombosis, atherosclerosis obliterans (Buerger's disease), Raynaud's disease, susceptibility of blood vessels to spasm with frostbite, diabetic endarteryyit, thyrotoxicosis , metabolic acidosis, hypercapnia, hypoxia, angle-closure glaucoma, severe aortic stenosis mouth, acute myocardial infarction, porphyria, deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, diabetes.

Patients with diseases of the prostate, where there is an increased risk of urinary retention. Simultaneous treatment with MAO inhibitors and within 14 days after the termination of their use. Elderly patients.

Dosage & Administration

Adults. The drug used intravenously, intramuscularly and subcutaneously. A single dose of the drug when administered intravenously the collapse - 0,1-0,3-0,5 ml of 1% solution. When intravenous single dose of the drug is diluted in 20 ml of 5% glucose solution or 0.9% sodium chloride is injected slowly jet. If necessary, repeat administration.

The drug is administered intravenously permitted, for which 1 mL of 1% solution mezaton dissolved in 250-500 ml of 5% glucose solution.

With intramuscular and subcutaneous single dose for adults is 0,3-1 ml

1% solution.

When a local anesthetic is added 0.3-0.5 ml of 1% solution of 10 mL anesthetic solution.

To avoid "withdrawal" after a prolonged infusion (repeated lowering blood pressure as opposed to the drug) the dose should be reduced gradually.

Higher doses for adults intramuscular and subcutaneous injection: single - 10 mg daily - 50 mg. High dose intravenous administration to adults: single - 5 mg daily - 25 mg.
