- upper respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, pharyngitis, etc.)

- disseminated or localized mycobacterial infections due to Mycobacterium avium or Mycobacterium intracellulare. Localized infections due to Mycobacterium chelonae, Mycobacterium fortuitum or Mycobacterium kansasii.
- prevention of disseminated infections caused by the complex Mycobacterium avium (MAC) in HIV-infected patients with the number of CD4-lymphocytes ≤100 / mm3.
- eradication of H. pylori of patients with duodenal ulcer in inhibition of secretion of hydrochloric acid to induce omeprazole or lansoprazole (clarithromycin activity against H. pylori at neutral pH higher than acidic pH).
- treatment of odontogenic infections.
APPLICATION
Clarithromycin recommended dose for adults and children over the age of 12 years is 250 mg 2 times a day, in more severe infections the dose can be increased to 500 mg 2 times a day. The usual duration of treatment is 5-14 days, except for the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia and sinusitis which require 6 to 14 days of therapy.
Klatsid can be applied regardless of the meal, as food has no effect on the bioavailability of clarithromycin.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics, and other ingredients.
Simultaneous use astemizole, cisapride, pimozide, terfenadine (as this could lead to a lengthening of the interval Q-T and development of cardiac arrhythmias, including ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation and the twisting ventricular tachycardia (torsade de pointes)), ergotamine, dihydroergotamine (as this could lead to ergotoksichnosti), lovastatin, or simvastatin (due to the risk of rhabdomyolysis); the use of these drugs is contraindicated during treatment with clarithromycin (see. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS, Interactions).
