Treatment of manic phase of bipolar affective disorder and prevention of their recurrence.
Prevention of depression in patients with unipolar affective disorders.
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to the drug
- severe cardiovascular disease with symptoms of decompensation and violations conductivity infarction, Brugada syndrome (including family history)
- thyroid dysfunction
- hyponatremia
- severe renal impairment, renal failure
Dosage & Administration
Adults use as initial and maintenance dose of 1 capsule (300 mg) 2 times a day (morning and evening) after meals, drink 100-150 ml of water. If insufficient therapeutic effect of the initial dose can be gradually increased, but it should not exceed the maximum dose, which is 2.1 grams (7 capsules) per day. After a therapeutic effect to reduce the dose to maintenance - 1 capsule (300 mg), 2 times a day. The duration of treatment depends on the disease.
The maximum allowable concentration of lithium in blood serum - 1.6 mmol / l.
During treatment should regularly monitor the concentration of lithium in blood serum.
