VALCIK INDICATIONS
- shingles (Herpes zoster);
- infections of the skin and mucous membranes caused by the herpes simplex virus, including initial and recurrent genital herpes;
- herpes labialis (lip fever);
- preventive treatment (suppression) of recurrences of infections of the skin and mucous membranes caused by the herpes simplex virus, including genital herpes;
- decrease the risk of transmission of genital herpes virus to healthy partner in the application of valacyclovir as suppressive therapy in combination with safer sex;
- prevention of cytomegalovirus infection following organ transplantation.
APPLICATION
for the treatment of herpes zoster appoint 1 g three times a day for seven days for treatment of herpes simplex - 500 mg 2 times a day. In recurrent disease, caused by the herpes simplex virus, the duration of treatment - 5 days.
For the preventive treatment of recurrence of infections caused by the herpes simplex virus, valacyclovir administered at a dose of 500 mg 2 times a day.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to valacyclovir, acyclovir; during pregnancy and breastfeeding; childhood.
