Fluconazole Indication
- Cryptococcosis, including cryptococcal meningitis and infections of other sites (e.g., lung, skin), in patients with a normal immune response, and patients with various forms of immunodepression (including AIDS patients, organ transplantation);
- Maintenance therapy to prevent relapse krpitokokkoza in AIDS patients;
- Generalized candidiasis including candidemia, disseminated candidiasis and other forms of invasive kakndidoznoy infections such as infections of the peritoneum, endocardium, eyes, respiratory system and urinary tract, including in patients with malignancy, in intensive care units, patients receiving cytotoxic or immunosuppressive agents, as well as in patients with other factors predisposing to the development of candidiasis;
- Prevention of candidiasis in the presence of high risk of systemic infection, eg in patients with severe or long-lasting neutropenia;
- Deep endemic mycoses (coccidioidomycosis and histoplasmosis) in patients with normal immune systems;
- Oropharyngeal candidiasis, esophageal candidiasis, and mucous membranes.
Contraindications
- The simultaneous use of terfenadine (with the constant use of fluconazole 400 mg / day or more) or astemizole;
- Lactation;
- Hypersensitivity to the drug, as well as to other antifungal agents - azole derivatives.
Dosage
The solution for intravenous injection is administered in / in the drip at a rate of not more than 200 mg / hr. The daily dose of fluconazole depends on the nature and severity of the fungal infection. When transferring from / in the introduction to the application of the drug in a form suitable for oral administration, and vice versa, there is no need to change the daily dose.
