Furadonin Indication
Bacterial urinary tract infections (pyelitis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis), including for the treatment of relapses, and to prevent infection in urological operations, catheterization, cystoscopy.
Contraindication
- Increased sensitivity to nitrofurantoin or the excipients of the drug;
- Anuria;
- Oliguria;
- Acute porphyria;
- Renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance less than 60 mL / min);
- Cirrhosis;
- Chronic hepatitis;
- Congestive heart failure;
- Hemodialysis;
- Lack of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (threat hemolytic anemia);
- Neuritis and polyneuropathy;
- Pregnancy or lactation;
- Children under 12 years old.
Dosage and administration
The drug is taken orally immediately after meals, drinking with plenty of water.
Acute infections: Adults and children over 12 years - 100 mg 2 times a day for 7 days.
Severe chronic recurrent infections: adults - 100 mg 4 times daily for 7 days. Adult highest single dose - 300 mg daily - 600 mg.
Surgical prophylaxis 100 mg 2 times a day to day procedures and 3 days after the procedure. If not adopted another dose, you should continue treatment in previously designated doses.
