Broxinac Indications
Treatment:
- postoperative inflammation and pain reduction in patients after cataract extraction;
- non-infectious inflammatory diseases of the anterior segment of the eye.
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug, as well as to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
The drug is contraindicated in patients with exacerbated asthma attacks, urticaria and symptoms of acute rhinitis with acetylsalicylic acid and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Contraindicated in patients under 18 years of age (safety and effectiveness of the drug in children have not been studied).
Dosage & Administration
Adults (including elderly patients)
To treat postoperative inflammation and reduce pain in patients after cataract extraction, it is recommended to instill 1 drop once a day in the conjunctival sac. Treatment is started 1 day before surgery and continued for the first 14 days of the postoperative period (including the day of surgery).
For the treatment of non-infectious inflammatory diseases of the anterior segment of the eye, it is recommended to instill in the conjunctival sac 1 drop of the drug 2 times a day. The course of treatment is set by the doctor depending on the severity of the condition.
When using several topical ophthalmic drugs, the interval between their administration should be at least 5 minutes.
Contact lenses should be removed before applying eye drops. You can install them again 15 minutes after instillation.
In case of skipping the drug, the drug should be used as soon as possible in the dose prescribed by the instructions. If almost 24 hours have passed since the omission, the drug should be used at the next appointed time, without doubling the dose to compensate for the missed.
For elderly patients, the mode of administration of the drug does not differ from that in younger patients.
