Azyter Indications
Azyter® is intended for local antibacterial therapy of conjunctivitis caused by sensitive strains in children from the first days of life and adults, namely:
- purulent bacterial conjunctivitis;
- trachomatous conjunctivitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis.
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to azithromycin or other macrolide or to any other component of the drug.
Dosage & Administration
The drug is used for instillation into the eyes.
The doctor should give the patient advice on the proper use of the antibacterial agent.
Adults.
Instill 1 drop in the conjunctival sac 2 times a day, morning and evening. The course of treatment is 3 days.
There is no need to continue treatment for more than 3 days.
Adherence to dosage is important for the success of treatment.
Elderly patients.
There is no need to adjust the dose.
The order of application.
1. Wash your hands, stand or sit comfortably.
2. Pull the lower eyelid of the affected eye down with your finger.
3. Raise the tip of the open single-dose container as close to the eye as possible, but do not touch the eye.
4. Gently squeeze the container so that one drop hits the eye and release the lower eyelid.
5. Close your eyes and pinch the inner corner of the dripping eye with your finger for 1 minute.
6. Repeat all the above steps with the other eye, if prescribed by your doctor.
7. Discard the single-dose container with residual solution immediately after use. Do not store it for future use.
When using several ophthalmic topical agents, the drugs should be used with an interval of at least 15 minutes.
Children. Used for children from birth. Dosage - as indicated for adults in the section "Method of administration and dosage". There is no need to adjust the dose for children (see section "Peculiarities" and "Pharmacodynamic properties").
