Libexin Indications
Acute or chronic cough, mostly unproductive, of any origin (bronchitis, tracheitis, pleurisy, pneumonia or cough in patients with heart failure).
Drug preparation for bronchoscopic examination or bronchographic.
Suitable for easing cough that accompanies the disease with respiratory failure and aeration because they do not interfere with the activity of the respiratory center.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Diseases accompanied by significant bronchial secretions, postoperative conditions (after inhalation anesthesia).
Dosage & Administration
The tablet should swallow whole without chewing and crushing not, or can develop temporary numbness and insensitivity of the oral mucosa.
The drug can be used to relieve cough in diseases that are accompanied by violation of breathing and gas exchange, because the drug does not inhibit the function of the respiratory center.
Adults
The average dose is 1 tablet 3-4 times a day (3 to 4 times 100 mg).
In more severe cases the dose can be increased to 2 tablets 3-4 times daily or 3 tablets 3 times a day (3 to 4 times or 200 mg 3 times 300 mg, respectively).
Children aged 3 to 14 years
Depending on the age and body weight of the patient accordingly lower average dose from ¼ to ½ tablet 3-4 times a day (3 to 4 times to 25 or 50 mg).
Children aged 3 to 6 years old or weighing 10 to 20 kg: ½ tablet 3 times a day (3 times 50 mg).
Children aged 6 to 14 years old or weighing more than 20 kg: ½ tablet 3-4 times a day (3 to 4 times for 50 mg).
