Astin Indications

Hyperlipidemia.

Astin is prescribed in cases where no satisfactory response only body to diet and other non-pharmacological measures.

Dosage & Administration

The recommended starting dose is Astin 1tabletka 10 mg per day. You can increase the daily dose to 80 mg Astin depending on the desired effect. Astin dose should be taken once a day, at any time during the day, but always at the same time every day. Astin can be taken regardless of meals. The effect is observed after two weeks of treatment, and the maximum - four weeks. Therefore, the dose can be changed lyshecherez four weeks after administration of a previous dose.

The primary (heterozygous familial or polygenic) hypercholesterolemia (type IIa) and mixed hyperlipidemia (type IIb)

Treatment begins with the recommended initial dose, which increases after four weeks, depending on patient response. The maximum daily dose is 80 mg.

Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia

Adults: dose range - the same as for other forms of hyperlipidemia. The initial dose is adjusted depending on the disease. Most patients who suffer from homozygous simeynuhiperholesterynemiyu, the optimal effect is observed when taking a daily dose of 80 mg of Astin. Astin used as adjunctive therapy with other treatments (plazmaforez) or as primary therapy if treatment is not possible by other methods.

There is no need to reduce the recommended dose for elderly patients and patients with impaired renal function.

Contraindications

Astin is contraindicated at:

- hyper sensitivity to any ingredient of the drug,

- liver disease in the active form of transaminase elevations in serum of more than 3 times,

- disease of skeletal muscle

- in periodvahitnisti and lactation.
