Glivec Indications
For the treatment of patients (with the presence of Philadelphia chromosome leukocytes (bcr-abl) for the first time diagnosed positive chronic myeloid leukemia in the chronic phase, phasiblastic crisis and acceleration phase, and after failure of interferon alpha therapy, in the accelerated phase and blast crisis phase.
Glivec is also indicated for the treatment of adult patients with Kit (CD117) - positive inoperable and / or metastatic malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract (GIST).
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or auxiliary substances that are part of the drug.
Dosage & Administration
Treatment is prescribed by a physician experienced in the treatment of patients with malignant hematologic diseases and malignant tumors.
Used internally during food, drinking plenty of water to minimize the risk of gastrointestinal complications. The drug in doses of 400 - 600 mg is used once a day, while the daily dose of 800 mg should be used 400 mg twice a day, morning and evening .
