Essobel Indications
Treatment of major depressive episodes, panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorders.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to escitalopram or to other components of the drug, simultaneous treatment of non-selective irreversible monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or pimozide.
Dosage & Administration
Essobel is used internally adults 1 time per day regardless of the meal.
Safety of doses above 20 mg daily have not been established.
Major depressive episode
Typically prescribed 10 mg 1 time per day. Depending on individual sensitivity of the patient's daily dose may be increased to 20 mg.
Antidepressant effect usually occurs within 2-4 weeks. After the disappearance of symptoms treatment should continue normally for 6 months in order to enhance the effect.
