Aritmil Indications
- tachyarrhythmias related to WPW, with IOM;
- atrial and ventricular fibrillation, it is not possible to use other drugs;
- all kinds of paroxysmal tachycardia, including supraventricular, nodal and ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, in the case when other drugs can not be prescribed.
A tablet is used only for the treatment of severe rhythm disorders, which represent a danger to the life of the patient and are resistant to other drugs, or if other drugs are contraindicated.
Treatment should be initiated and controlled only in a hospital or under the supervision of a specialist.
Dosage & Administration
Adults
Treatment usually starts with 200 mg (1 tablet) 3 times a day for a week, reducing the dose to 200 mg 2 times a day for the next week.
Use the minimum effective dose depending on the patient's response to drug use. After the soak period should be decreased to 200 or 100 mg / day.
Rarely, the patient may need a higher maintenance dose. The maintenance dose is required to regularly review, especially if it exceeds 200 mg / day. Too high dose during the maintenance therapy can cause side effects, which are associated with high levels of amiodarone and its metabolites in body tissues.
Since arrhythmia has a very long t½, it can take a day (200 mg of the drug can be taken in a day, and 100 mg - is recommended to be taken every day). You can take a break in taking the drug - 2 days per week. Receive Mode drug is determined individually.
Elderly patients
As with all patients it is important to apply the minimum effective dose.
Elderly patients may be sensitive to the action of arrhythmia, even in the appointment of the usual doses.
Particular attention should be paid to monitoring thyroid function.
Contradictions
- hypersensitivity to iodine or to amiodarone, or to other components of the drug, sinus bradycardia, sinoatrial block, except for patients with artificial pacemaker (risk of stopping the sinus node);
- high degree AV-blockade, severe violations of intraventricular conduction (blockade of 2nd and 3rd Hiss beam legs), sinus node weakness syndrome in the absence of an artificial pacemaker;
- simultaneous use with drugs that can cause polymorphic ventricular tachycardia type «torsade de pointes» thyroid dysfunction (hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism).
- before treatment is necessary to check thyroid function in all patients;
- during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
