Mitrazapin Sandoz Indications

Treatment of major ( deep ) depression.

Contradictions

Hypersensitivity to mirtazapine or to any component of the formulation.

Concomitant use of mirtazapine with MAO inhibitors.

Dosage & Administration

Adults. The effective daily dose usually 15-45 mg; initial dose - 15 mg or 30. If the initial dose is 15 mg and the daily - 15 or 45 mg tablets used the appropriate dosage. Mirtazapine begins to show the effect after 1-2 weeks of treatment. Adequate therapy dose should cause a positive response for 2-4 weeks. With inadequate dose response can be improved. If over the next 2-4 weeks the desired effect is not detected, the drug should be discontinued.

Elderly patients. The recommended dose for adults is similar. In order to achieve a satisfactory and safe result, increasing the dose for elderly patients is carried out under the strict supervision of a physician.

Renal insufficiency. Clearance mirtazapine can be reduced in patients with renal failure or moderate to severe (creatinine clearance <40 mL / min). Appointing Sandoz Mirtazapine to this category of patients should be monitored creatinine clearance.
