Depakin Enteric Indications
For adults, as monotherapy or in combination with other antiepileptic drugs:
- For the treatment of generalized seizures (clonic, tonic, tonic-clonic seizures, absences, myoclonic and atonic seizures); Gastaut Syndrome Lennox-;
- For the treatment of partial seizures (partial seizures with secondary generalization or not).
For children, as monotherapy or in combination with other antiepileptic drugs:
- For the treatment of generalized seizures (clonic, tonic, tonic-clonic seizures, absences, myoclonic and atonic seizures); Gastaut Syndrome Lennox-;
- For the treatment of partial seizures (partial seizures with secondary generalization or not).
Treatment of mania in bipolar disorder syndrome.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to valproate, dyvalproatu, valpromidu or to any component of the drug in history.
Acute hepatitis.
Chronic hepatitis.
Cases of severe hepatitis in an individual or a family history of the patient, especially caused by drugs.
Hepatic porphyria.
The combination of mefloquine and St. John's wort extract.
Children weighing less than 17 kg.
Children under 6 years (in connection with the risks of the pill in the airway during swallowing).
Dosage & Administration
The drug is intended for oral administration. To open the bottle must click on the cover and turn it. After the drug vial must be carefully sealed.
The dose of syrup is measured using the dosing device plug adapter contained in the package. The drug is preferably taken with meals, dividing the daily dose
- 2 ways - for children under 1 year
- 3 receptions - for children aged 1 year.
The average dose is:
- Infants and children up to 12 years: 30 mg / kg body weight (preference in the application should be given to the syrup, oral solution or granules prolonged);
- Children (12 years old) and adults: 20-30 mg / kg body weight (preference in the application should be given pills, tablets or granules prolonged prolonged action).
