Buspiron Indications
Symptomatic treatment of anxiety disorders with predominant symptoms: anxiety, inner restlessness, stress state.
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to buspirone or one of the formulation components; Acute congestive glaucoma; myasthenia gravis; severe liver dysfunction; severe renal impairment; epilepsy; lactation; age 18 years.
Dosage & Administration
Dose is determined by the physician individually for each patient depending on the disease state. At the beginning of treatment prescribed 5 mg buspirone hydrochloride 2-3 times a day. In order to achieve maximum therapeutic effect daily dose is gradually increased up to 15-30 mg buspirone distributed into several individual doses.
The maximum single dose should not exceed 30 mg.
The maximum daily dose should not exceed 45 mg.
Tablets should be taken at the same time of day, not liquid, squeezed small amounts of liquid, regardless of the meal.
If necessary, dividing the tablet into two halves should be put on a solid surface and slightly upward dash thumb press.
Special groups of patients. With reduced liver and / or kidney disease should use the lowest possible dose.
The duration of treatment. Tranquilizers can not be used without control for a long period. If you need an extended use of the drug (≤6 months), you should perform a thorough medical monitoring.
