Anafranil Indications
Adults
Depressions of different etiology, course which has different symptoms:
- Endogenous, reactive, neurotic, organic, masked, involutional forms of depression
- Depression in patients with schizophrenia and psychopathy
- Depressive syndromes that occur in older adults; depression caused by chronic pain or chronic medical conditions
- Depressed mood violation reactive, neurotic or psychopathic nature
- Phobias and panic disorder (seizures)
- Obsessive-compulsive syndromes
- Cataplexy accompanying narcolepsy
- Chronic pain (specific for cancer pain, neuropathic and idiopathic pain syndromes)
Children
- Obsessive-compulsive syndromes
- Nocturnal enuresis (only in patients aged 6 years and subject to the exclusion of organic causes of disease)
Contradictions
- Recent myocardial infarction
- Congenital Syndrome extended interval QT
- Acute intoxication with CNS depressants (such as hypnotics, analgesics or psychotropic drugs) or alcohol
- Acute urinary retention.
- Acute delirium
- Untreated closure glaucoma
- The final Hipertofiya prostate urinary retention
- Pyloric stenosis
- Paralytic ileus
Dosage & Administration
Intramuscular injection
Start treatment with administration of 25-50 mg (1-2 ampoules content), then increase the daily dose to 25 mg (1 vial) to achieve a daily dose of 100-150 mg (4-6 vials). Once, when it begins to improve status, number of injections gradually replacing their maintenance therapy and oral forms of the drug.
Intravenous infusion
Treatment begins with intravenous drip of 50-75 mg (2-3 ampoules content) 1 every day. To prepare the infusion solution using 250-500 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride or dextrose; infusion duration 1.5-3 hours. During infusion requires careful observation of the patient to detect possible side effects. Particular attention should be paid to blood pressure control because it can develop orthostatic hypotension.
If unable to reach a clear improvement of the patient, treatment with infusions should continue for another 3-5 days. Then to maintain the achieved effect on the admission of the drug inside; 2 tablets of 25 mg equivalent Anafranil 1 ampoule containing 25 mg.
