Vitopril Indications
- Hypertension;
- Symptomatic heart failure;
- Short-term (6 weeks) treatment with combination therapy of acute myocardial infarction (during the first 24 hours) with stable hemodynamics;
- Diabetic nephropathy in patients with insulin-dependent diabetes and type II.
Contraindications
- If hypersensitivity to lisinopril or other ACE inhibitors, or one of the components of the preparation.
- Angioedema in history, including after the use of ACE inhibitors, idiopathic and hereditary angioedema.
- Primary hyperaldosteronism.
- After kidney transplantation.
- Cardiogenic shock.
- Hypovolemia.
- Acute myocardial infarction (systolic blood pressure below 90 mm Hg).
- Renal artery stenosis.
- Acute renal failure with increased pressure.
- Severe heart failure.
- Severe arterial or renovascular hypertension.
- During the period of lactation.
- During pregnancy.
- Children age.
Dosage & Administration
Vitopril is recommended 1 time per day, in the morning. The drug is used regardless of the meal. Wash down pill plenty of fluids.
Vitopril 2.5 and 5 mg broken up into two equal parts, and 20 mg Vitopril 10 broken up into four equal parts.
Hypertension
Vitopryl® can be used as monotherapy and in combination with other antihypertensive drugs.
