Suprastin Indications
- Allergic diseases - seasonal allergic rhinitis; conjunctivitis; hives; dermographism; contact dermatitis; alimentary allergy; allergic reactions caused by drugs; allergy caused by insect bites; itch.
- As adjunctive therapy in systemic anaphylactic reactions and angioedema.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug;
- Acute asthma attacks;
- Closure glaucoma;
- Stomach ulcer;
- Acute myocardial infarction;
- Arrhythmia;
- Simultaneous reception of MAO inhibitors;
- Urinary retention, prostatic hypertrophy;
- Hypersensitivity to other derivatives of ethylenediamine.
Dosage & Administration
Suprastin solution for injection can be introduced by a doctor or nurse. Injections administered intramuscularly. If anaphylactic shock or acute, severe allergic reactions recommended to start treatment with intravenous Suprastynu®, and then move on intramuscular injection or oral use tablets. The duration of treatment determined by the physician.
Adults
The daily dose for adults is usually 1-2 ml.
Children
The recommended starting dose:
- Children aged 1-12 months: 1/4 ampoules (0.25 ml)
- Children aged 1-6 years: 1/2 ampoule (0.5 ml);
- Children aged 6-14 years: 1 / 2-1 ampoule (0.5 ml - 1 ml).
In this case, you must use insulin syringe with a needle for intramuscular administration.
The daily dose for a child should not exceed 2 mg / kg body weight.
