Oxaliplatin Indications
- adjuvant therapy for colorectal cancer of stage III (stage C according to the Duke classification) after complete resection of the primary tumor;
- treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.
Contradictions
- Hypersensitivity to oxaliplatin or to the excipient.
- Inhibition of the function of the bone marrow before the start of the first course of therapy (the number of neutrophils <2 x 109 / l and / or the platelet count <100 x 109 / l).
- Peripheral sensory neuropathy with functional disorders before the beginning of the first course of therapy.
- Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 ml / min).
- Breast feeding period.
Dosage & Administration
Recommended dose for adjuvant therapy for colorectal cancer - 85 mg / m2 body surface intravenously every 2 weeks for 12 courses (total duration of treatment is 6 months).
The recommended dose for the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer is 85 mg / m2 body surface intravenously every 2 weeks.
