Ornigil INDICATIONS:

Parenteral administration of the preparation is shown in cases of acute and severe infection or where oral administration is impossible for such diseases and conditions: anaerobic systemic infections caused by sensitive ornidazole microflora:

septicemia, meningitis, peritonitis, postoperative wound infections, puerperal sepsis, septic abortion and endometritis;

prevention of infections caused by anaerobic bacteria in surgical interventions (especially during operations on the colon and rectum), gynecological operations;

amoebic dysentery with severe, all forms of extra-intestinal amebiasis, giardiasis, liver abscess.

APPLICATION:

preparation is administered in / min for 15-30. In anaerobic infections in adults and children over the age of 12 years is used in the initial dose of 500-1000 mg, then 500 mg every 12 hours or 1000 mg every 24 hours for 5-10 days (step dose).

After stabilization, the patient should switch to oral ornidazole (eg tablets of 500 mg, 1 tablet every 12 hours).

Children under 12 years of age with a body weight of> 6 kg daily dose administered at the rate of 20 mg / kg body weight, divided into 2 of the introduction, for 5-10 days.

For the prevention of anaerobic infections in adults and children over the age of 12 years Ornigil introduced into / in a dose of 500-1000 mg half an hour before surgery.

For the prevention of mixed infections Ornigil should be used in combination with an aminoglycoside, penicillin or cephalosporins. Introducing drugs should be separated.
