Ornidazole Introduction
Parenteral administration of the preparation is shown in cases of acute and severe infection or where oral administration is impossible for such diseases and conditions: anaerobic systemic infections caused by sensitive ornidazole microflora:
septicemia, meningitis, peritonitis, postoperative wound infections, puerperal sepsis, septic abortion and endometritis; prevention of infections caused by anaerobic bacteria in surgical interventions (especially during operations on the colon and rectum), gynecological operations; amoebic dysentery with severe, all forms of extra-intestinal amebiasis, giardiasis, liver abscess.
Application
It is introduced within 15-30 min.
In anaerobic infections in adults and children over the age of 12 years prescribed in the initial dose of 500-1000 mg, then - 500 mg every 12 hours or 1000 mg every 24 hours for 5-10 days (step dose). After the patient has stabilized, go ornidazole for oral (e.g. tablets of 500 mg 1 tablet every 12 hours).
