Nivalin Indications
The drug is indicated for the treatment of:
- Mild or moderately severe dementia of the Alzheimer type;
- Diseases of the peripheral nervous system (poliradykulonevryt, radykulonevryt, neuritis, polyneuritis, polyneuropathy);
- Conditions associated with damaged anterior horn of the spinal cord (after polio myelitis, spinal muscular atrophy);
- Cerebral palsy (brain condition after stroke, cerebral palsy);
- Disorders of the neuromuscular synapse (myasthenia gravis, muscular dystrophy).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance galantamine hydrobromide or to any of the excipients of the drug;
- Severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance below 9 ml / min);
- Severe hepatic insufficiency (grade above 9 on a scale Child-Pugh (Child-Pugh));
Dosage & Administration
Nivalin tablets use internally meals. During treatment necessary to provide sufficient amount of liquid.
The dosage and duration of treatment galantamine depend on the nature and course of the disease and the patient's individual sensitivity to treatment.
Disorders of the peripheral and central nervous system; breach of the neuromuscular synapse.
Adults.
The usual dose is 10-40 mg, divided into 2-4 receptions.
Children.
The recommended daily dose for children is:
- From 6 to 8 years - 5-10 mg per day;
- From 9 to 11 years - 5-15 mg per day;
- From 12 to 15 years - 5-25 mg per day.
Alzheimer's disease.
Nivalin tablets should be taken twice a day, preferably during the morning and evening meals.
The initial dose. The recommended starting dose is 5 mg 2 times a day for 4 weeks.
- Asthma;
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
- Bradycardia;
- AV-block;
- Hypertension;
- Heart failure / severe heart failure (III-IV degree for NYHA);
- Ischemic heart disease / angina;
- Epilepsy;
- Hyperkinesia;
- Mechanical intestinal obstruction / obstructive pulmonary disease or recently transferred surgery on the organs of the gastrointestinal tract;
- Mechanical breach of patency of the urinary tract / obstructive pulmonary disease or recently transferred surgery on the urinary tract.
