Melitor Indications
Treatment of major depressive episodes in adults. (Depression)
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any component of the drug;
abnormal liver function (liver cirrhosis and / or liver disease active phase).
used in combination with highly active inhibitors of CYP 1A2 (ciprofloxacin, fluvoxamine).
Dosage & Administration
For oral administration.
The drug is taken regardless of meals or during meals.
The tablets should be swallowed whole with water.
The recommended dose is 25 mg 1 time a day at bedtime. After 2 weeks of therapy with the need to improve the clinical condition the dose can be increased to 50 mg (2 tablets of the preparation Melitor) one time per day at bedtime.
All patients need to monitor liver function indicators: at initiation of treatment and then periodically after approximately 6 weeks (the end of the active phase), 12 and 24 weeks (end of maintenance therapy phase) and thereafter (see SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS.) With clinical need.
Patients with depression treatment should continue as long as necessary, but at least 6 months, in order to achieve certainty that the symptoms of depression disappeared.
