Teteracycline Indications
Infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by susceptible to the drug by microorganisms, bronchitis, pneumonia, suppurative pleurisy,
subacute bacterial endocarditis,
bacterial and amebic dysentery,
whooping cough, sore throat,
scarlet fever, gonorrhea,
brucellosis, tularemia,
typhus and relapsing fever,
psittacosis, urinary and biliary tract,
purulent meningitis,
purulent infections of the skin and soft tissues, cholera.
Prophylaxis of postoperative infections.
Contraindications
- Increased sensitivity to tetracycline and similar antibiotics, to any component of the product;
- Fungal disease;
- Chronic hepatic / renal dysfunction;
- Kidney failure, particularly if severe;
- Systemic lupus erythematosus;
- Simultaneous use of vitamin A or retinoids (risk of benign intracranial hypertension).
Dosage & Administration
Tetracycline take internally 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal because food and some dairy products reduce the absorption. Tablets should be swallowed upright, sitting or standing, long before sleep and drink plenty of water to reduce the risk of esophagitis.
