Cymevene INDICATIONS
treatment of symptomatic CMV infection, life-threatening or visual impairment, in patients with immunodeficiencies (AIDS, iatrogenic immunosuppression associated with organ transplantation or chemotherapy tumors).
Prevention of CMV infection in patients receiving immunosuppressive therapy following organ transplantation.
APPLICATION
Cymevene powder is intended only for administration.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage, frequency, or infusion rate.
Standard treatment
Initial treatment - infusion administering the drug at a dose of 5 mg / kg of body weight at a steady rate for 1 h, 2 times a day; the interval between doses - 12 h (10 mg / kg / day).
The drug is used for 14-21 days in patients with normal renal function.
Supportive treatment is prescribed to patients with a weakened immune system, in which there is a risk of relapse of CMV retinitis. The drug is administered in a daily dose of 6 mg / kg body weight 5 times a week, or 5 mg / kg body weight daily.
