Prostan Indications
Treatment and control of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in patients with an enlarged prostate to:
- Size reduction (regression) enlarged prostate to improve urine flow and reduce symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia;
- Reducing the risk for acute urinary retention and the need for surgical intervention, including prostate and transuretrorezektsii prostatectomy.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to finasteride or to any component of the drug.
Prostane not indicated for use in women and children.
Pregnancy: the use of women when they are or may potentially be pregnant (see "Use during pregnancy or breast-feeding" section.).
Dosage & Administration
The recommended dose - 1 tablet of 5 mg 1 time per day during a meal or without food.
Prostane can be used as monotherapy and in combination with an alpha-blocker doxazosin.
Duration of treatment determined by the doctor individually. Despite the fact that the improvement of the patient's condition can be observed earlier for assessing effectiveness requires at least six months, the drug, then it is necessary to continue the treatment.
For elderly patients and patients with renal failure of varying severity (decreased creatinine clearance to 9 ml / min) dose adjustment is not necessary.
No data on the use of the drug to patients with impaired hepatic function.
Not suitable for children.
