The usual starting and maintenance dose for most patients is 50 mg once daily. The maximum antihypertensive effect is attained 3-6 weeks after the onset of treatment CLOSART. For some patients, it may be more favorable increasing the dose to 100 mg per day.
Patients with reduced intravascular volume (eg, as a result of treatment with high doses of diuretics) to begin therapy should be with a dose of 25 mg 1 time per day. In appointing CLOSART elderly or patients with impaired renal function, including those who are on dialysis, an initial dose adjustment is not necessary to carry out. Reduced doses may be required in patients with evidence of liver disease.
To reduce the risk of complications and mortality for cardiovascular reasons in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy
