Reumalgin Indications

Short-term symptomatic treatment of exacerbation of osteoarthritis.

Long-term symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.

Contraindications

- Hypersensitivity to meloxicam or other components of the drug, or active substances with a similar action, such as NSAIDs, aspirin. Meloxicam should not be given to patients who have asthma symptoms arise, nasal polyps, angioneurotic edema or urticaria after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs;

- Third trimester of pregnancy (see. Section "Pregnancy and lactation");

- Contraindicated in children and adolescents under 16 years of age;

- Gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, related to previous therapy with NSAIDs, history;

- Active or recurrent peptic ulcer / bleeding history (two or more separate confirmed cases of ulcers or bleeding);

- Severe hepatic insufficiency;

- Severe renal insufficiency without the use of dialysis;

- Gastrointestinal bleeding, cerebrovascular bleeding or a history of other blood clotting;

- Severe heart failure;

- Contraindicated used to treat the pain of preoperative coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).

Dosage & Administration

Apply orally.

The total daily amount of drug should be used single, with water or another liquid, during a meal.

Adverse reactions can be minimized by the use of the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration of therapy necessary to control symptoms (see. Section "Peculiarities of Application"). It should periodically assess the need for symptomatic relief in patients condition and response to treatment.

Aggravation of osteoarthritis:

7.5 mg / day (1 tablet 7.5 mg or half a tablet of 15 mg). If necessary, the dose can be increased to 15 mg / day (1 tablet of 15 mg or 2 tablets of 7.5 mg).

Rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis:

15 mg / day (1 tablet of 15 mg or 2 tablets of 7.5 mg).

According to the therapeutic effect of the dose can be reduced to 7.5 mg / day (1 tablet 7.5 mg or half a tablet of 15 mg).
