Piracetam Indications
Symptomatic treatment of psycho-organic syndrome with symptoms of impaired memory, reduced attention span, dizziness; mono- or combined therapy in the treatment of cortical myoclonus; vertigo and associated balance disorders, with the exception of dizziness of vasomotor and mental origin; alcoholism for the treatment of psycho-organic and withdrawal syndromes; treatment of speech disorders (dyslexia) in children aged 8 years, in combination with other treatments.
Dosage & Administration
Symptomatic treatment of psycho-organic syndrome: a daily dose - 2,4-4,8 g 2-3 administration.
Treatment of cortical myoclonus: initial dose of 24 g / day (2-3 administration) during the first 3 days. In the absence of the therapeutic effect or insufficient therapeutic effect of the drug is used at the same dose of the day 3-4. After 7 days of application piracetam, in the absence of therapeutic effect, drug treatment should be canceled. With a positive treatment effect lasts. Cancelling the use of the drug should be gradually reducing the dose of 1-2 g every 2-3 days, in the case of the syndrome Lanza - Adams - every 3-4 days. Repeated courses of piracetam in acute attacks of the disease should be carried out every 6 months by adjusting the dose.
Treatment of vertigo and associated disorders of balance: 2,4-4,8 daily dose is 2.3 g per administration.
Contradictions
- arrester;
- diabetes in children with a tendency to allergic reactions caused by the use of fruit juices, essences;
- severe hypertension;
- not recommended for children under the age of 1 year;
- I trimester of pregnancy and lactation.
